Tonight, headed to a feature at Silverdocs, the documentary film series held annually at the AFI Cinema up the street. We are seeing Tailor-Made Dreams about a German filmmaker who takes an Indian tailor on a trip across Europe and recreates lavish Bollywood numbers for him to perform. It sounds a bit like Montesquieu in reverse: "All things seemed to unite to ravish every sense; she heard on one side a strain of lofty music, all the more so as it throbbed with passion; on the other, she beheld the dances of these godlike men, exclusively devoted to her pleasure. Yet all the pleasures were only intended to lead her by degrees to pleasures yet more entrancing..."
