The Guardian has first impressions from few celebrity intellectuals. Alain de Botton says of a teapot: "They loved to use the language of science to explain form, but it's semi-nonsense. The scientific requirements of tea-making do not necessarily lead to this shape."

he did. apparently he was very hard on furniture. i remember reading gertrude stein complaining somewhere that ezra was always breaking her chairs.
