Berrigan's new collection was in my bag over the whole Thanksgiving break, and I'm still gradually making my way through it. NP is into it too.

Just read a fascinating history of artificial eyes by Katherine Ott in this book. She has an interesting argument about the subordination of medical technology to social aesthetics, especially for the 20c middle class. Be forewarned that the sections on the 19C are pretty gruesome. New word of the day: enucleation.

And:

-Firefox overhaul due out later today, says BBC.

-Buy a Missouri jail on Ebay, says the AP.

-Lapham to step down, says the NYT.
