Saw the Kimbell Art Museum and the Modern Art Museum of Ft. Worth. The Modern, in a new building by "autodidactic architect" Tadao Ando, has stairways dead-ending at walls, as if to convey the resistance of art to functionality. Going a brisk pace with an octogenarian docent, we took in an exhibition of photorealist Robert Bechtle's paintings from early 60s to the present. Noted the arc of his work, from cars to street intersections that are void of cars. Below is Agua Calienta Nova (1975). Are poets writing poems based on snapshots today? Flickr poets?
