Some paintings we saw in Cusco

________________

"Virgin de la leche" is anonymous 17C. We saw a similar one from the same period by Ignacio Chacon that featured the baby Jesus on one side and an elderly Saint Bernardo on the other side.

Close-up detail of "Ultima Cena" by Marcos Zapata (18C) contains mestizo elements such as the guinea pig, the round loaves, the reddish faces (from altitude in the Andes), and the face of Francisco Pizarro on Judas.
