K writes from Kamwenge, Uganda: "I can greet in all four languages spoken in my community and hold my own when it comes to buying vegetables inthe market. But the syntax of Runyankore is very different than English so I still speak too slow because my mind has to do lots of cartwheels to make a sentence. The good news is I spend lots of time observing first and second grade classes and that is about my language level at this point."
